1.Introduction
This statement sets out A&J Electrical
Services Ltd (AJE) policy in respect of any employee or contractor
whose proper performance of their duties is or maybe impaired
as a result of drinking alcohol or taking illegal drugs.
All staff and persons concerned are to be made aware of this
statement and become familiar with its contents.
2. Policy
The Contracts Manager of AJE will
take all reasonable steps to ensure that all employees and
contractors are made aware of this statement. Disciplinary
action will be taken against any employee or contractor if
he or she is found in a workplace under the control of AJE,
or attempting to drive a vehicle whilst under the influence
of alcohol or illegal drugs, as a result of which they have
the incapacity for work or to drive a vehicle.
It is a requirement of AJE that no employee or contractor
shall:-
AJE will not tolerate any departures from the above rules
that will if contravened, be a gross misconduct leading to
dismissal.
3.Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed at regular intervals. It will
be amended and updated as conditions dictate.
